Charles Bamback teaches continental philosophy at UTD and has written widely on Heidegger, Nietzsche, and the history of Hermeneutics. He is currently working on a new book: Heidegger's roots: Nietzzsche, National Socialism, and the Greeks.

Jim Bratone, originally from New Jersey, studied film at the University of Texas and produced the award-winning animated feature Quicksand. He is completing his Masters in Fine Arts at the University of North Texas and works as a profesional artist.

Fran Carris is a visual/video/performance artist. She is a former member of 9 Fish Jumping, Musica Nova and Question Authority, the. Poetry video credits include "Manifesto" and "Ignition". Other video credits include "Lady in the Dark" shown at the Dallas Video Festival and the San Antonio Museum of Art. Recent performance credits include a part in "An Evening of Artaud" at the Undermain and "Miss Goddess Goes To Tea" for the Dance For the Planet Festival. She is a member of C. J. Critt's "Angry Girl Sextet" who recently performed in New York City at the Pulse Ensemble Theater. When she grows up she wants to retire from the telephone company.

Geoffrey A. Hale completed his Ph.D. in the German Department at Johns Hopkins University in 1996. He has published articles on literature, philosophy and psychoanalysis. His book, Kiekegaard's Modernity, is expected to be published by the Unviersity of Minnesota Press.

J.L. Hinman is the founder of Negations, President of the Institute's Board, and a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Dallas in History of Ideas.

Peter-Erwin Jansen studied Sociology, Politics and German Studies. M.A. Philosophy with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Habermas. He is a journalist and runs his own press office. He is also teaching polticial education for adults. Since 1988 he regularly tours the United States and was living in Houston for two years. Peter-Erwin Jansen is author of Befreiung Denken - ein politischer Imperativ. Materialien zu Herbert Marcuse«, Streiflichter aus Amerika. Essays zu Gesellschaft und Gewalt, Interviews zum Kommunitarismus. He is also editor of Feindanalysen. Über die Deutschen by Herbert Marcuse and responsible for the edition of Marcuses unpublished writings from the Marcuse Archive in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. He will start working with the Leo Löwenthal archive this year.

Sigrid Koepke received a technical education in Germany and is currently a doctoral candidate in Humanities at the University of Texas at Dallas --emphasizing German Philosophny-- where she completed her coursework in record time.

Kevin Mattson is the Research Director at the Walt Whitman Center for Culture and Politics of Democracy at Rutgers. He received his B.A. in Philosophy and Social Theory from the New School for Social Research, received a Ph.D. in American History, University of Rochester and studied with Christopher Lasch. His current book is Creating Democratic Public: The Strugle for Urban Particpatory Democracy During the Progressive Era (University Park, Pennsylvania State Press, 1998).

Lantz Miller conducted graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is Editor of Veterinary Forum.

Trudy Steuernagel is Professor of Political Science at Kent State University. Her most current publications include the coauthored Women and Public Politcy and Women and Political Participation, both with CQ Press.She lives in Kent with her husband Scott Walker and their son Sky.

Victor Worsfold is Associate Professor of Ethics at the University of Texas at Dallas and serves as Director, Teaching Quality Enhancement Program. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard. Currently, he is working on the book Moral Decency, and has articles forthcoming in Educational Theory ("Teaching Democracy Democratically") and Perspectives ("Billy Bud's Professional Ethics in Theory and Practice").
